Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting me today for Weekend Writing Warriors! I'm sharing another snippet from RET, the third book in my Kaddim Brothers series, which is now available!
Snippet setup: Last weekend's snippet showed Ilam feeling a bit uncomfortable and confused as to why Ret was there, but they did have a drink. I'm skipping ahead just a bit, but continuing that scene. This explains a bit about how Ilam is feeling. Enjoy!
The next drink was sweeter. No burning. And, for some reason, I lacked the ability to object to another. After five drinks of that stuff, a toast for each member of the team, my body was warm and tingling in places that needed to stay asleep around my unattainable team leader. He could never know what I thought about him. He would definitely kick me off the team if he found out.
Ret held up the three-quarters-empty bottle. “Should we start toasting the other teams? The ones who make it easy for us to win?”
I waved my hand in front of me. “No. I’m good.”
*And a bit more*
Tempting thoughts spun in my head, and for some reason, I believed it a good idea to tell Ret that I sometimes fantasized about him. Yep, I’d definitely had enough to drink. Because the Ret I fantasized about didn’t bring home others. He only wanted me. Definitely not the same as the alpha in front of me. I had to stop.
Kaddim Brothers book three
Ret Kaddim has the perfect life. He’s a space racer, the leader of the most popular team across the universe. Always planning, practicing, and racing, he has no time for a relationship, but finds plenty of willing partners who agree to his one-night-only rule. Because there is no way he wants to end up in a relationship and stuck with a family like his younger brothers. He’s having too much fun for that.
Ilam Nairan always dreamed of becoming a space racer. And thanks to a chance encounter with a retired racer, he is now living that dream. Far away from the mated and pregnant omega life his parents wanted him to have, he loves everything about his life. It’s perfect.
But one night can change everything. Especially when too much alcohol is involved. Can these two teammates survive the resulting media storm? What will it mean for their careers? The future of the team? And for them?
Ret is a sweet with knotty heat mm non-shifter mpreg sci-fi romance featuring an alpha space racer and an omega space racer who both believe they’ll always be single, snarky but loveable teammates, lots of space racing, endearing family members, an adorable baby, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you enjoy teammates realizing they have feelings for each other, and all the obstacles those bring, be sure to download Ret today!
RET is now available!

See, this is why workplace romance can be such a bad idea. Proclaim your feelings, get fired. Doesn't always happen, of course, but Ilam is definitely worried about it. It's only sensible to consider the consequences. But will Ilam be able to keep his mouth shut until he can leave?

In this scene, it's not Ilam we need to worry about. ;)

The poor guy. You can just feel his hopelessness. Lucky for him, this is a romance!

True, but only chapter four with so many more to go, so it's definitely not going to be easy for him.

He'd better keep control and keep his mouth closed.

Yes, he might encourage Ret if he doesn't. ;)

This is so how so many unfortunate mornings after begin. I hope it's not that was for our boys, but I'd bet it is. Drinking and telling the truth are not a good idea. Great snippet! Tweeted.

Oh, the morning after this night is definitely an interesting one, but we're not there yet. ;)

Thank you so much, Veronica! It is!

In his place I'd probably be cautious too. Ret does have a reputation.

Yes, it's definitely safer for his heart.
