He can no longer deny his attraction ~ Read a new Weekend Writing Warriors excerpt from RET

Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone who visited me last weekend! I'm back to share another snippet from RET, my most recent release.

I usually schedule these posts at the beginning of the week, and between the time I scheduled last weekend's post, and the day it actually posted, so much happened. My oldest child is at college, and they got sick with one of the many viruses going around (not covid though.) It was so hard for me to not go there and take care of them. Then my dog got an aural hematoma and being too old for surgery, we have to treat her other ways, which includes her wearing a head wrap so she can't shake her ears. If that wasn't bad enough, my computer crashed on the Friday, and no amount of help can get it out of the endless loop of failing to try to fix itself. So, I am currently waiting on a new computer while using an older and much slower one. Luckily, I saved my most important things. I lost some promo pictures, but I can reupload the majority of them. And my oldest child is now feeling much better. Still working on my old pup, but we're getting there.

​Frozen in his soft gaze, I thought he was going to rest our foreheads together. Yet, when he leaned closer, I felt the press of his lips to mine. No fantasy I’d ever had of him could have prepared me for this moment.

I wanted to pull away. Probably should have. But the fantasy of being held by him was still running through my mind.

His lips weren’t soft but firm as they plied my own. He knew what he was doing, taking control and pulling me quickly under his spell. I couldn’t help but want more, drawn under by the sudden rush of need.

Moving his hands away from my neck, he trailed his fingers down my spine before cupping my ass. Then he was over me, pushing me back to lie on the couch. A situation I’d imagined more times than I would ever admit.

Gripping his biceps, I struggled to catch my breath, his attention back on my neck. I couldn’t help the moan that slipped out as he traced his tongue across an extremely sensitive spot under my ear. Stars, this felt wrong but so right at the same time.

“You smell divine,” Ret whispered. “You’ve always smelled good to me. I tried to ignore it. Tried for so long. But I can’t anymore.”
