Hello everyone! Can you believe we're into November already? On my list of things I wanted to accomplish this year, I have one more book that I want to finish. And while I am working on it, I'm not sure if it will be ready before the new year. Anyway, I'm sharing another snippet from RET, my most recent release. Snippet setup: Last weekend's snippet showed Ilam with conflicting feelings about his team captain. And the alcohol Ret kept giving him was not helping. In this snippet, Ilam has stopped drinking, and Ret has moved onto something else, as they begin to have an actual conversation. This is in Ilam's point of view, but the first line of dialogue is Ret. Enjoy! “First, I want to know why you never come to the clubs with us.” I took a deep breath and tried to come up with a tangible answer while he took another drink. He’d asked this many times, and I always came up with some excuse as he got ready to leave. Only, he wasn’t on his way out this time. “Um, it’s not really my scene.” “What do you mean?” He wrinkled his brows as he gestured up and down my body. “You’re very attractive. You could have everyone there offering you drinks and much more to spend one night with you.” I twisted in my seat, turning to face him. Stars, why did talking with him have to be this uncomfortable? **Plus, some more of the scene... “See, that’s the issue. I’m not into having one-night stands. When I find someone I want to be with that way, I want it to last. I want an actual mate, not a one-time thing.” Ret clacked his tongue. “A mate, huh? Don’t you want to have a little fun first? Get a sample of what’s out there before you settle? I know you’re an omega and all, but that doesn’t mean you need to be with the first guy who pays attention to you. You’re still young.” I stood up, needing to stop this conversation from going any further. I’d already had more than enough of the kind of attention Ret was talking about in my lifetime. The first was long ago and not anything that made me crave more. But Ret would never understand. “I’m going to bed.” “No.” He gripped my bicep and tugged on my arm. “Please don’t. I’m sorry if I offended you. It’s just you’re so fucking good-looking. I don’t get it.” RET Kaddim Brothers book three Ret Kaddim has the perfect life. He’s a space racer, the leader of the most popular team across the universe. Always planning, practicing, and racing, he has no time for a relationship, but finds plenty of willing partners who agree to his one-night-only rule. Ilam Nairan always dreamed of becoming a space racer. And thanks to a chance encounter with a retired racer, he is now living that dream.
