Who did Ilam punch? Weekend Writing Warriors from RET

Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting me today for Weekend Writing Warriors! I'm sharing another snippet from RET, the third book in my Kaddim Brothers series, which releases this Monday!!

Snippet setup: Last time, Ret was at the club, enjoying being hit on by a Tanvanian fan, when the young man he was making out with suddenly became his youngest teammate. Well, that didn't go over well. I'm skipping ahead, well into chapter two (Ilam's POV) for today's snippet. Ilam didn't go to the club, instead choosing to play some VR, a survival game. Enjoy!

Then one [creature] jumped on my back nearly knocking me over again. I tried to break its grip around me but failed. All the rubaloos bellowed around me and kept coming. It was no use. I was doomed. Yet, I wasn’t ready to quit at that moment. I kept swinging.

And landed a punch square in the face of one of the monstrous creatures. Only, instead of air, I hit something solid. Plus, it swore at me.

Stars, that wasn’t a rubaloo.

​I removed the goggles to find Ret in front of me, his hand over his nose. Blood seeped through his fingers, streamed down his arm, and trickled onto the floor.
